Odd-Even certainly reduced traffic on roads, which was pleasant, but the pollution remained, and the reason for which is also obvious. At the same time, lots of money would have been wasted in TV ads and propaganda. I don’t have much objection to this scheme, for I don’t like watching crammed car lanes, but I don’t like empty streets either. What I would much rather like is bicycles, e-bikes (not “Hamara Bajaj“), e-cars, e-rickshaws, personal mobility vehicles, etc. However, the Delhi Government has not shown any inclination to replace the dirty fast moving vehicles with the green slow moving vehicles, which is disturbing. And I have failed to understand the reason for this sans cynical speculations — ironically, on the lines of the AAP. No, I don’t think there is a need for another Odd-Even.
